Mugatik is a fictitious international photo festival that would be celebrated in the streets of Irún (Euskadi, Spain), a small city next to the French border. The Basque word ’mugatik’ means ’from the border’, and the logo depicts that concept as it is divided like the border between Irún and France, delimited by the Bidasoa river.
Getting inspiration from the logo and the DIN typeface, I created an icon system prioritizing simplicity, modularity and high readability. It could be applied on signage and maps, thus helping guiding people along Irún during the festival.
